FAQ

When does the temple open and close to visitors?

The temple opens at 9:00 am and closes at 5:00 pm. Last admission is at 4:30 pm.

How long will it take to visit the temple and attend services?

It will take more than an hour if you wish to see all of the halls.

Can I use a credit card or PayPay for payment?

No, we only accept cash.

Where can I collect the temple’s goshuin (red-ink stamp)?

There is a goshuin-jo (goshuin reception desk) inside the East Sobo Hall.

Can a monk give me a guided tour of the temple?

We do not provide such service.

Is there a guide who can give us a tour of the temple complex (garan)?

Where can I find the bus stops for JR Nara Station, Kintetsu Nara Station or Horyuji Temple?

There is one in front of the Nishinokyo Station and another at the Yakushiji Temple South Parking Lot.

When do the parking lots close?

The parking lots open at 8:45 am and close at 5:00 pm.
Please enter the parking lot with enough time to make it for last admission at 4:30 pm.

Please tell me how to get to Toshodaiji Temple.

It is about a 10 to 15-minute walk from the North Reception on the north side of Yakushiji Temple.
